Can I Find Peace In My Life ?
As one looks at the headlines, circumstances , and events of life that we
encounter on a daily basis it often seems that there is nothing but violence and
trouble to be found anyplace in the world. Men and women are diligently looking
for peace but rarely find what they are seeking. Many have been led to ask the
question ; "is it even possible to find peace on the earth in any fashion any
more?" The idea of having personal peace may seem like it is beyond reach to
you, but I have some very good news for you if you are one of those who is
seeking to find it. In his book, The Bible , God speaks often of His desire to
impart personal peace unto people who are seeking to find it. You will find that
from  the first book of the Bible to the last, your peace is a frequent subject of
concern to God. In the Old Testament book of Isaiah alone it is mentioned
thirty-three times. Among these writings you will see that God sincerely desires
that you experience peace in your life. It is written ;
" Oh that thou hadst
hearkened to my commandments! Then had thy peace been as a river,
and they righteousness as the waves of the sea." (Isaiah 48:18).

In that same book it is also written ; " Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee." (Isaiah 26:3)
It is God who gives peace and God who alone who is able to prevent it from
being taken away from you. Among the names by which the God of the Bible is
revealed unto mankind is the name of
"Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). As you
read that verse in Isaiah  you will see that name connected with the birth of a
child and the gift of a son unto mankind. It is written ;"
For unto us a child is
born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his
shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful , Counsellor, The
Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
(Isaiah 9:6).

What does this mean to you ? How does all of this  make it possible for you to be at
peace both with God and Man? The answer to that is to be found in knowing who the
child and the son mentioned in this writing is. They are one and the same. He was
born in a small village called Bethlehem long ago. He was given for us on a hill in the
city of Jerusalem when he was crucified  on a Roman cross to pay our sin debt with his
blood.
The Prince of Peace is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.

He is the only one who can give peace which can not be taken away by the world and
will endure in spite of circumstances. In the Gospel of John we read ;
"Peace I leave
with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid."(John 14:27)  "These
things I have spoken unto you , that in me ye might have peace. In the world
ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer ; I have overcome the world."
(John 16:33).
Clearly the giver of peace desires you to have his peace as a free gift.

His peace is the only peace which will reconcile you to the God of the universe. He
bought the right to pronounce you totally without fault before God the Father through
his death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. No one else ever has or ever will do
for you what he has done. We are told that this is so in the book of Ephesians where
we read;
" But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made
nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one,
and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us ; having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained
in ordinances for to make in  himself of  twain one new man , so making
peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross,
having slain the enmity thereby." (Ephesians 2:13-16).

Jesus has paid the price to buy peace that he might give it unto you freely. You cannot
do anything to earn it. You cannot buy it. You can only choose to either accept his gift
or reject it. To accept the free gift of God's love it is necessary to place your trust in
the work which Jesus Christ has already done. Where ever you are at this very
moment you may choose to ask Jesus Christ for this gift. To receive God's forgiveness
simply admit to him that you are a sinner. Tell him that you are sorry for your sin and
that you know that Jesus Christ died for you that you might be forgiven. Ask that he
come into your life and take control from this moment on and please forgive you of all
your sins based upon his promise to do so through the blood of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us that if you will believe in Jesus Christ you will be saved.
It is written ;
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shalt
be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10: 9-10).
